Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee works to provide the Senate of College Councils with the financial support to sustain a variety of scholarships through the coordination of tabling sessions, profit-shares, and large-scale events. Members of the committee will have the opportunity to develop professional skills in community outreach, oral and written communication, and day-of-logistics oversight as they contact local businesses and sponsors in executing our events. Fundraising offers the unique experience to actively contributing towards the Senate Endowment Fund, which supports Senate-sponsored scholarships available to the student body. Fundraising also aims to amplify our organization’s presence through these events, and to aid in the broader missions of the Senate external councils and internal committees in campus resource advocacy, connecting students with faculty and administration, and improving the UT academic experience through policy creation and event execution.

Current Committee Focus

The Fundraising Committee will coordinate monthly tabling sessions, bi-weekly profit shares, and three night events throughout the academic year to encourage campus awareness concerning Senate initiatives, events, and legislative updates. These events are intended to raise money towards Senate sponsored scholarships and to publicize Senate’s missions as an organization. The funds raised towards the Senate Endowment Fund provide Study Abroad Scholarships, the Academic Improvement Scholarship, and the Non-Traditional Student Scholarship. This year, we’d also like to focus on increasing Senate presence on campus by using frequent, small-scale events to promote upcoming Senate sponsored activities for the broader UT community.
